Long before Mahmoud’s profession as a lawyer took off, he earned his wings in the aviation industry. Mahmoud was obsessed with airplanes as a child, and in the 4th grade, Mahmoud’s friends began calling him “Mach” — a nickname he still goes by. Mahmoud began flying airplanes at age 16 and received his pilot’s license on his 17th birthday.
After receiving an MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Mahmoud worked as a manager for major airlines Delta and Northwest for over 18 years where he negotiated contracts worth billions of dollars. Mahmoud’s extensive work drafting and negotiating contracts led him to law school, and he launched Khatib Law LLC in 2019.
Mahmoud lives in Fayetteville with his wife and two children. In Mahmoud’s free time, he flies his Piper Cherokee for fun. He set the world record for the fastest ground speed ever recorded in a PA-28-180, achieving 260 knots in 2025.
